Players from local clubs Academy Sports Club and Sunset FC will be pitting their talent against 6 international U14 teams; Tottenham Hotspur FC and Gillingham FC from the UK, Cavaliers SC and Harbour View FC from Jamaica, and IFFDC and Rev Soccer from the US.

The tournament runs from 20 – 25 June, 2016.

Fabian Whorms, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Cayman Airways said: “Cayman Airways is excited to support the tournament once again this year. We strongly believe that youth sports initiatives such as these have numerous benefits. They not only promote Cayman as a destination for sports tourism by attracting players and their families to our beautiful islands, but they also give the teams the opportunity to develop skills both on and off the pitch. To compete at this international level requires hard work, discipline, dedication, motivation and the desire to be the best, all of which are important for the growth of the players in their sports careers and also personally”.

“I would also like to thank all the other sponsors who are supporting this year’s event, many of whom have been involved from the outset and continue to recognize the importance of sports initiatives for Caymanian youth. And to those who are involved for the first time this year, many thanks for becoming part of this great initiative,” he added.

Paul Byles, Academy Sports Club U15 coach said “We would like to thank Cayman Airways for their continued support and recognition of the importance of sports within Cayman. Their participation enables our players to gain international experience which may not otherwise be available to us. We are excited to be able to test our players’ skills and determination against the experienced and talented international teams playing in this year’s tournament. The opposition gets tougher every year and once again we can anticipate an exciting and intense five days of competition.”
